Privacy
Robine Studio has no analytics, advertising or tracking. An account is optional: without one, everything you do stays on your device. If you choose to browse TONE3000, the app connects to TONE3000 to authenticate you and retrieve the tone you select. TONE3000's own privacy policy applies to that service.
The microphone
The app asks for the microphone because that is how iOS gives it the input of your guitar or audio interface. The sound is processed on your device and is never recorded or sent unless you record a take yourself, which stays in the app.
Your voice
When you sing into the Voice section, your pitch is measured on your device. The takes you record, their analyses and notes, and the reference voices you import stay in the app on your device. They leave it only if you export them yourself.
Your progress
The lessons you have done and the time you have practised are kept on your device, and on our server only if you sign in to an account.
Your files
The captures, impulse responses and circuits you load stay on your device.
The lessons
The lessons are downloaded from our server, with or without an account. To limit abuse, the server counts requests for ten minutes by a hash of your network address; it does not keep who downloaded what.
If you create an account
Our server then keeps:
- your e-mail address;
- a hash of your password, never the password itself;
- hashes of the tokens that keep you signed in;
- the presets you put online, and your progress in the lessons;
- during the beta, which partner gave the invitation you signed up with. Partners are only told how many accounts their invitations made, never whose.
If you connect an assistant such as Claude to your account, it can list your presets and add new ones, only once you have allowed it on our sign-in page; it cannot change or delete them. The server keeps the assistant's name and where to send you back, and hashes of the tokens it was given.
To slow down password guessing, the server keeps, for an address that failed to sign in, a hash of that address and a count of failures, with nothing of the account.
Where and how long
The server and its database are hosted in the European Union, in France. What an account holds is kept for as long as the account exists. Deleting your account in the app deletes all of it at once, with no copy kept; the server's backups are overwritten within 30 days.
TONE3000
TONE3000 models selected in Robine Studio are held for the current session. They are not included in exported presets. Robine Studio does not store your TONE3000 password.
